Roadmap Uncertainty Since the Clari Acquisition

Clari acquired Groove in 2024 and is folding it into Clari's broader revenue platform. Existing Groove customers don't know which features survive, which get rebranded as 'Clari Engage' or similar, and which slow down. The 'Salesforce-native' identity that made Groove distinctive is being absorbed into Clari's pipeline-and-forecast positioning. Roadmap uncertainty alone is reason to evaluate alternatives.

Salesforce-Native Means Salesforce-Dependent

Groove was always positioned as the Salesforce-native sequencer - every Flow ran on Salesforce data, every record updated lived in Salesforce. That tight coupling was a feature when SFDC was your CRM. It becomes a constraint when you're consolidating, evaluating HubSpot, or trying to reduce SFDC license count. You can't easily decouple the engagement layer from the underlying CRM.

Spaces Adoption Stalled

Spaces (Groove's collaborative deal room concept) was supposed to give AEs and managers a shared workspace per opportunity. In practice, adoption stalled - reps still update deals in Salesforce, managers still review pipeline in dashboards, and Spaces became a feature managers ask about and reps don't open.

Groove's Playbook concept (templated outreach sequences with managerial approval) is powerful in theory but underused in practice. Most teams end up with a small number of Playbooks the AEs actually run and a long tail of unused templates that nobody maintains. The promise of standardized rep workflows rarely materializes.

Groove is per-seat priced, on top of which every rep needs a Salesforce license (Sales Cloud minimum). Questions You Might Have

Will our active Flow enrollments survive the migration?

Yes. Contacts mid-Flow on cutover day are re-enrolled in the equivalent HubSpot Sequence at the right step - not restarted from step one. We map every Flow's step structure before the cutover.

What about Spaces - does HubSpot have an equivalent?

Not as a separate feature, and that's intentional. We migrate Spaces content (notes, files, attached contacts) into the corresponding HubSpot Deal record. The Deal becomes the shared workspace with timeline, notes, files, and stage history all native.

Can we sunset Salesforce as part of this migration?

Yes. HubSpot Sales Hub doesn't require Salesforce underneath it. Many teams use this migration as the moment to remove SFDC entirely from engagement use cases - eliminating $150–$200/user/month in stacked license fees.

What happens to Groove Playbooks?

Playbooks are rebuilt as HubSpot Sequences with Workflow extensions. The templated outreach becomes the Sequence; the managerial approval and conditional logic becomes the Workflow. Logic is preserved end-to-end.

What about Clari forecast - do we keep it?

We force this decision in week one. If Clari forecast is in heavy use, we plan around keeping it and integrating with HubSpot. If it isn't, the migration is the moment to consolidate forecast into HubSpot Deals and reporting.

Will we lose call recordings or conversation intelligence data?

No. Recordings from Clari Copilot, Chorus, or Gong are exported and attached to HubSpot contact and deal records, or the conversation intelligence function moves to HubSpot's native Conversation Intelligence going forward.

How long does a Groove to HubSpot migration take?

The typical timeline is 8–12 weeks. Smaller teams (under 10 reps) can be 6–8 weeks; teams with heavy Salesforce dependency or active Spaces / Clari forecast usage can run 12–16 weeks.

What does it cost compared to staying on Groove plus Clari?
