ABOUT THE PROJECT
A Neutral Place for Public Ideas
Poriborton Chai is an open platform where citizens of Bangladesh can submit ideas about the country, discuss them, and vote. Ideas with the most support rise, which gives anyone looking a straightforward read on what people are actually asking for.
The problem it addresses is structural rather than technical. Bangladesh has a long history of collective action, and no unified independent space where the collective view can be expressed and measured without a sponsor, a party or a commercial interest shaping it. Existing channels are limited in reach or carry the fingerprints of whoever funds them.
Which makes funding the design question rather than a footnote. A civic platform carrying advertising serves its advertisers. One taking donations serves its donors. Poriborton Chai carries neither. It was built and funded by HubXpert with support from Time Traveler, and that is stated openly on the platform so the reader can judge the arrangement for themselves.
