CRM

HubSpot and Freshsales are both competent CRMs, and they are built for different buyers. HubSpot is a leading CRM platform known for its integrated ecosystem, offering tools for marketing, sales, customer service, content management, and operations. Freshsales, part of the Freshworks suite, is a sales-focused CRM designed to simplify processes, boost collaboration, and use AI for efficiency. We are a HubSpot Platinum partner, so we have a side in this. Freshsales wins on price and on one of the review scores, and we say so below.

1

Introduction

In today’s competitive landscape, businesses need tools that speed up sales, improve customer interactions, and drive growth. For a wider view of what a CRM is meant to do before you compare two of them, see what a CRM system is for.

This comparison covers pricing, features, AI capabilities, user experience, scalability, user feedback, and the updates both platforms shipped this year. If you already know HubSpot is the one, which businesses actually use HubSpot covers the fit by company type.

2

Pricing Comparison

Pricing is a critical factor when choosing a CRM, as it impacts scalability and ROI. Below is a detailed breakdown of HubSpot and Freshsales pricing, taken from HubSpot’s pricing page and Freshworks’ pricing page. Both vendors bill annually at a discount and monthly at a premium, and HubSpot’s Starter tier is currently promotional against a $20 list price.

HubSpot

Freshsales

Free tier

Free, up to 2 users on every hub

None, 21-day trial only

Entry paid

Starter, $7 a seat a month billed annually

Growth, $9 a user a month billed annually

Mid tier

Professional, $800 a month for Marketing (3 seats), $90 a seat for Sales

Pro, $39 a user a month billed annually

Top tier

Enterprise, $3,600 a month for Marketing, $150 a seat for Sales

Enterprise, $59 a user a month billed annually

Onboarding

$3,000 one-time on Marketing Professional, $1,500 on Sales

Free, and Freshworks covers $500 of it

AI

Agent Hub agents, billed by HubSpot Credits at $9 per 1,000

Freddy AI scoring on Pro, agent sessions $49 per 100

HubSpot offers a free plan but becomes expensive as you scale, especially with add-ons like Marketing or Service Hubs. Additional costs come from Data Hub, at $720 a seat a month billed annually, and phone support is limited in the lower tiers. The $750 a user a month figure that circulates online is not HubSpot’s price: it comes from Freshworks’ own comparison page, where a competitor quotes it.

Freshsales is significantly more affordable, with plans starting at $9 a user a month and transparent pricing. It includes free onboarding, worth $500, and 24/5 support, which makes it cost-effective for small to mid-sized businesses. One correction to the usual write-up: the AI features are not in the $9 plan. Freddy AI scoring and deal insights start on Pro.

3

Features Comparison

Both platforms offer strong CRM features, but their focus and depth differ. HubSpot excels in managing complex sales processes with a highly customizable pipeline, making it suitable for businesses with intricate B2B cycles. Freshsales focuses on simplicity, with AI-driven insights that simplify deal tracking and contact management.

Sales Automation

HubSpot offers workflow rules for sales automation, and its Sales Hub adds the productivity tools as well: meeting scheduling, email tracking, and sequences. Freshsales uses Freddy AI for advanced automation, alongside email composition, lead assignment, one-click phone dialing, and smart workflows.

Marketing Automation

HubSpot’s marketing automation covers advanced email marketing, a landing page builder with A/B testing, workflow automation, content management, and social media tools. Freshsales offers lighter marketing automation: basic email marketing, essential landing pages, lead nurturing, and SMS marketing. Those capabilities come from Freshmarketer, which is bundled into Freshsales Suite rather than the standalone sales CRM, so the comparison only holds if you buy the suite.

AI Capabilities

HubSpot

Freshsales

AI tools

Predictive analytics for deal close probability, churn risk, lead scoring, revenue forecasting, account engagement; enhanced with third-party tools like Forecastio

Freddy AI for automated email composition, next-best-action recommendations, deal insights, contact enrichment, conversation analysis

Focus

Comprehensive predictive analytics and forecasting

Immediate task automation and sales productivity

HubSpot offers advanced AI for strategic insights, ideal for data-driven decision-making. Freshsales focuses on practical, day-to-day sales automation with Freddy AI, which is included from the Pro plan up rather than on every plan.

Integrations

HubSpot has more than 2,000 apps in its marketplace, a REST API, webhooks, custom development, and extensive documentation, as HubSpot’s developer page sets out. Freshsales has fewer integrations: the Freshworks suite, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, communication and marketing apps, and Zapier, with a basic API and webhooks. If you run both, or you are moving between them, HubSpot and Freshsales integration covers what actually syncs.

4

User Experience and Ease of Use

User experience is critical for adoption and productivity. HubSpot excels for larger organizations needing a full GTM platform, with extensive customization and integrations, though onboarding is paid on the upper tiers: $3,000 for Marketing Hub Professional and $1,500 for Sales Hub. how HubSpot holds up at enterprise scale covers what that buys at scale. Freshsales scales well for smaller businesses, with affordable plans, free onboarding, and integration into the Freshworks ecosystem.

5

User Feedback and Ratings

Users appreciate HubSpot’s all-in-one capabilities but note higher costs and a steeper learning curve. Users value Freshsales for its simplicity, affordability, and AI-driven features, though some want more advanced customization. The scores back both readings: G2 rates HubSpot 4.4 out of 5 from 14,349 reviews, and G2 rates Freshsales 4.5 from 1,236.

Source

HubSpot

Freshsales

G2

4.4 of 5, 14,349 reviews, number 2 of 15 in its ranked CRM list

4.5 of 5, 1,236 reviews, not in the ranked list

Capterra

4.5 of 5, 4,491 reviews

4.5 of 5, 623 reviews

OMR Reviews

4.30 of 5, 520 reviews

3.32 of 5, 14 reviews

Read that carefully. Freshsales edges HubSpot on the G2 star average, on a tenth of the reviews, while OMR scores it far lower on a much smaller sample. Neither number is wrong. Capterra (hubspot) and Capterra (freshsales) put them level on Capterra, and OMR Reviews (hubspot) against OMR Reviews (freshsales) is the widest gap of the three.

Companies like Blue Nile report reduced no-show rates and high satisfaction due to Freshsales’ simplicity and governance. Blue Nile’s case study documents no-shows falling from about 50% to 20%, and Lalamove’s case study credits the platform with a 24% increase in sales conversions and a 58% improvement in customer engagement. Lalamove publishes no no-show data.

Recent Updates (2026)

Both platforms have evolved this year to stay competitive.

On HubSpot:

  • Enhanced AI capabilities, including predictive analytics and account engagement.
  • Workflow actions integrated into CRM cards for faster automation.
  • Improved user roles, permissions, and CRM data structure.
  • Expanded API and integration options.
  • A new AI pricing model, HubSpot Credits, and a smarter Breeze Assistant, the product formerly called Breeze Copilot.

On Freshsales:

  • Advanced Freddy AI features for deal insights and next-best-action recommendations.
  • Enhanced reporting with customizable dashboards.
  • Improved mobile app for better accessibility.
7

Conclusion

Both HubSpot and Freshsales are excellent CRM platforms, but their strengths cater to different needs. HubSpot’s comprehensive ecosystem, advanced AI, and vast integrations make it ideal for larger businesses with complex processes and budgets to match. Freshsales, with its affordability, intuitive interface, and AI-driven sales automation, is perfect for small to mid-sized businesses seeking quick results and cost efficiency. If you are moving from one to the other, HubSpot migration and moving support data across cover the practical side, and HubSpot Marketing Hub implementation is what we run for teams that pick HubSpot.
