3D Web Design Templates & Examples You Can Reuse
Most of the free and paid 3D web design templates you will find fall into three groups. You remix scene files in a 3D tool, clone full site templates, or adapt code demos. All three can save weeks. All three can also bring heavy files and unclear licenses with them. Pick by who will edit the template and where it has to run.
This guide shows where to look for 3D web design templates free download pages. It also shows what strong 3D web design examples have in common and how 3D web page design stays fast on real devices. A section on HubSpot CMS covers how to move a template there.
But first, let me narrow down:
|
You are |

A designer with no developer |
Spline community templates |
A 3D scene you edit and embed |

|
A Webflow builder |
Cloneable 3D projects |
A full page that already has 3D |
Low to medium |
|
A front-end developer |

Source code for a scene or effect |
JavaScript and 3D basics |
|
A HubSpot site owner |
Any of the above, rebuilt as a module |
A reusable component |
A developer for the module |
Key Takeaways
-
3D templates come as scenes, full sites, or code demos. Choose by who edits them.
-
Check three licenses before you build: the template's, the models and fonts inside it, and your tool's plan.
-
The best 3D examples give the 3D one job and keep the message in HTML text.
-
Audit file size, runtime, and fallbacks before you reuse a template. Aim for an LCP of 2.5 seconds or less, an INP of 200 milliseconds or less, and a CLS of 0.1 or less.
-
In HubSpot, rebuild a template as a custom module. HubSpot loads a module's JavaScript once per page.
What Are 3D Web Design Templates & What Can You Reuse?
A 3D web design template is a starting file you customize instead of building from zero. It can be a scene, a whole page, or code.
|
Type |
What it is |
Edit it with |
Where to find it |
|
Scene template |
A 3D scene with materials, lighting, and interactions |
Spline |
Spline community |
|
Site template |
A full page or site that already includes 3D |
Webflow |
Made in Webflow |
|
Code demo |
Source code for a scene or effect |
Your code editor |
Codrops and tutorial repos |
|
Asset pack |
Models and textures only |
Blender or another 3D tool |
Poly Haven and Sketchfab |
Scene and site templates move fastest. Code demos give the most control. Asset packs give you parts, not a layout. Most projects mix two: a scene template for the hero and a site template for everything around it.

3D Web Design Templates Free Download: Where to Look
Free does not mean free of rules. Check the license before you build on any source below.
Spline Community Templates
Spline lets you customize web-ready 3D scenes shared by its community, then embed them in any website. (Source: "3D web experiences with Spline") The Free plan adds a Spline watermark to web exports. Starter, at $12 per seat per month billed annually, removes it. (Source: "Spline pricing")
Cloneable Webflow Projects
Webflow's Made in Webflow gallery lets you browse, clone, and customize community sites. Its 3D collections include a free car startup template, a Webflow and Three.js template, a 3D tablet scroll animation, and a Spline-powered landing page. Some are free, and some are paid. (Source: "Made in Webflow: 3D modelling")
Codrops Demos
Codrops' Demos Hub lists more than 500 free demos, templates, and effects, and says you can download and use them under MIT. (Source: "Codrops Demos Hub") Its license page adds a limit. Downloadable demos are MIT unless stated. Design freebies can be used in personal or commercial projects, but you may not redistribute, republish, or sell them. (Source: "Codrops license") Read each demo's own notes.
Free Courses With Source Files
Design+Code's free lessons on building a 3D site with Spline and Framer include downloadable community and library files. They work well as practice templates. (Source: "Design+Code: publish a 3D site")
Asset Libraries
Poly Haven publishes every model, texture, and HDRI under CC0. Sketchfab licenses differ per model, so open each license before you download.
Free HubSpot Modules
If your site runs on HubSpot, our module showcase lists ready-made components built by our developers, and several carry a Free tag. They are sliders, calculators, and testimonials rather than 3D scenes. They show what a reusable, editor-friendly component looks like before you add 3D.
Before any download, ask five questions:
- Does the license allow commercial use?
- Can you modify the file and publish the result?
- Who owns the models, fonts, and textures inside it? A template's license may not cover them.
- Where is the scene hosted, and what happens if the vendor changes its plan?
- Does it require credit, and where will the credit appear?

What Do the Best 3D Web Design Examples Have in Common?
The best 3D web design examples give the 3D one clear job. They explain a product, set a mood, or guide navigation. Treat them as patterns, not files. Most are custom builds from studios, not templates you can download.
|
Example |
Pattern |
What to borrow |
|
A portfolio you explore by driving a small car |
Navigation that doubles as proof of skill |
|
|
Oryzo by Lusion |
A scroll-driven 3D render of a cork coaster |

|
Shopify Editions Spring 2026 |
A scroll-driven 3D product showcase with particle dispersion |

|
Cartier Watches & Wonders 2026 |
Six scrollable 3D alcoves, built by Immersive Garden |
A walk-through for a product range |
|
Explore Primland |
A cinematic flythrough of the Blue Ridge Mountains |
Place-based mood for travel and property |
|
Hubtown |
A glowing 3D monolith over water on a real-estate site |
One memorable object as the brand mark |
(Source: "8 Best Three.js Websites of 2026") Utsubo's roundup also reports that Oryzo won Awwwards Site of the Month in April 2026.
Three traits repeat across these sites:
- One job: The scene explains something or sets a mood. It is not decoration.
- Light control: Lusion's site does not take over your keyboard or mouse, so visitors navigate as they would on any site.
- Text in HTML: Richard Mattka's portfolio keeps its navigation in plain HTML, with 3D models behind it. (Source: "Build Truly Interactive Web Experiences with WebGL")
For smaller examples you can clone, start with the Webflow collection above. HubXpert built Imaginate Your Space with custom 3D web development integrated directly into the HubSpot CMS. The work covered 3D modeling, creative design, WebGL coding, and deployment. Read the Imaginate Your Space case study to see the result.
How Does 3D Web Page Design Stay Fast?
3D web page design stays fast when the scene loads after the page, not before it. Google sets three Core Web Vitals targets, measured at the 75th percentile of real visits. LCP should be 2.5 seconds or less. INP should be 200 milliseconds or less, and CLS should be 0.1 or less. (Source: "Web Vitals")
Run this audit on any template before you reuse it:
|
Check |
What to look for |
Why it matters |
|
Model size |
The GLB file size. Many teams aim for under 5 MB per model |
Large files slow loading on phones |
|
Runtime weight |
How many scripts or embeds load |
Each embed can bring its own runtime |
|
Poster image |
A still image that shows first |
Keeps your largest element light |
|
Lazy loading |
The scene loads as it nears the screen |
Saves data above the fold |
|
Phone test |
A run on a mid-range Android phone |
Laptop results mislead |
|
Fallback |
A still image for no WebGL or reduced motion |
Keeps the page usable |
|
Text in HTML |
Headlines and calls to action outside the canvas |
Search engines and screen readers read HTML |
If a template fails two or more checks, treat it as inspiration and rebuild the scene.
How Do You Reuse a 3D Template Inside HubSpot CMS?
Rebuild the template as a custom module, with the 3D scene as the reusable part. A Webflow or Framer clone lives in that platform, so you cannot paste it into HubSpot. Follow these steps:
- Pick the template and confirm its license allows commercial use.
- Export the scene as an embed, a package component, or a GLB file you host yourself.
- Build a custom module with fields for the scene URL, a poster image, and alt text.
- Put the loading code in the module's module.js, and set it to load asynchronously in meta.json.
- Test the page on a phone, then check LCP, INP, and CLS.
HubSpot custom modules can carry their own module.js and module.css files. When a page uses the same module more than once, HubSpot loads those files only once. Email modules do not support JavaScript, so this pattern is for pages, not emails. (Source: "HubSpot module files")
Our HubSpot module library shows how we package reusable components for content editors. Its modules are interface pieces such as sliders, calculators, testimonials, and hero banners, not 3D scenes, but the structure is the same.
How Do You Customize a Template So It Looks Like Your Brand?
Change the parts visitors notice first. A default scene looks like a default scene. Swap these items:
- The hero object, for your product or a shape tied to your brand
- Materials and colors, to match your palette
- Lighting and camera angle, for a mood that fits
- Motion, to one gentle movement instead of several
Then cut anything that does not serve the scene's one job. Keep the result simple enough that an editor can change the headline without touching the scene.
What Mistakes Make a Reused 3D Template Fail?
Most failures come from the same five habits:
- Keeping the default scene, so the page looks like every other site that used it
- Ignoring the license of the models, fonts, and textures inside the file
- Loading the scene above the fold with no poster image
- Stacking several embeds, so each one adds its own runtime
- Leaving out alt text, a still fallback, and keyboard access
When Should You Hire a Designer Instead of Using a Template?
Hire a designer when the 3D must explain a product, connect to your forms and CRM, or meet strict speed targets. A template cannot do that without rework.
HubXpert's Interactive 3D Website package is a design engagement at $10,000. It includes:
- UX research and a site map that marks the 3D elements
- Art direction for up to three scenes
- Figma designs with a 2D fallback
- A motion spec for your developer
It ends with a handoff file, so the 3D build is a separate line in your budget. See more projects on our work page.
FAQs
Can I use Spline templates without a paid plan?
Yes, for practice and prototypes. The Free plan adds a Spline watermark to web exports, so most live sites need a paid plan. Check Spline's current limits on files and scenes before you publish, and confirm where the scene will be hosted.
What skills do I need to edit a Three.js demo?
You need JavaScript and a basic grasp of 3D concepts such as scenes, cameras, lights, and materials. Many Codrops demos come with a tutorial and a repo, so read the article first and then run the demo locally. If you do not code, start with a Spline scene or a cloneable Webflow project instead.
What is the difference between a template and a theme in HubSpot?
A HubSpot theme bundles templates, modules, and global styles for a whole site. A template defines the layout of one page type. A 3D scene usually lives in a module that sits inside a template. You can reuse it across pages while editors keep control of the poster image and alt text.
Do 3D templates work on phones?
Some do, and some stall on mid-range devices. Test every template on a real phone, not only in a desktop browser. Reduce model and texture size, show a poster image first, and keep a still-image fallback for visitors who cannot run the scene.
Where can I find more 3D web design examples?
Awwwards lists sites by technology, including WebGL and 3D, and shows which ones won Site of the Day. Webflow's Made in Webflow gallery adds smaller sites you can clone. Browse both, and note what the 3D is doing on each page.
Wrapping Up
Pick one template and test it before you commit. Check its license, swap in your real asset, and run it on a mid-range phone. If it loads fast and the message still reads without the scene, keep it. If not, use it as a reference and rebuild.
